The Sessions School of Game Art is a division of Sessions Online School of Design.
Sessions Online School of Design was founded in 1997 with the goal of bringing new media design education to graphic and Web designers worldwide. Once a pioneer and now a leader in distance education, Sessions has delivered more than twenty thousand courses to students in over 100 countries.
School Mission
The mission of Sessions Online School of Design is to prepare design professionals by providing the highest quality of design and new media education, so that students can study at their own pace, from wherever they are, without the traditional constraints of time and space.
Sessions offers more than eighty individual courses and certificate programs in graphic design, Web design, digital arts, multimedia, business marketing design, and game art. Courses and programs prepare students for careers in the design industry by providing a rounded education in the skills and competencies necessary for professional success.
The educational objectives for students are:
- A foundation in the history and terminology of a design field.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software applications.
- Practical experience in completing a range of industry-standard design projects.
- The ability to learn from and work with the individualized critique and feedback of expert professionals.
- Practice in representing yourself and your work in a professional manner.
- The ability to diagnose your strengths and weaknesses as a designer and develop your personal creative or career directions.
- Upon completion of a series of courses or program, a portfolio of high-quality design work to show to potential employers
- For program students, the Sessions Certificate, a mark of distinction and achievement in design and new media studies.
Our high quality of content, instruction, and student service has earned us joint accreditation by the Distance Education Training Council and the Middle States Association Commission on Secondary Schools. Sessions is one of only two online schools licensed by the New York State Department of Education.
Sessions students learn from working, professional designers who are educating licensed. Courses are taught entirely online and are developed to help students build a well-rounded portfolio for presentation to clients and prospective employers.
